The project comprises two combined-cycle plants of approximately 420 MW each (840 MW total), a jetty, and the infrastructure to receive gas from a dedicated floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) and a floating storage unit (FSU). Transmission links into the national grid are included.

No FSRU or FSU hull is named in the financing documents or in the open press pack. No commercial start date is given. The project was previously recognised as Power Deal of the Year for Latin America at the 2025 IJGlobal Americas Awards.

Caribbean LNG continues to fill in

Island power systems across the Caribbean are adding LNG capacity in small and mid-scale form. The Bahamas Arawak Cay mini-LNG terminal (15,000 m³ storage, 60 MW shore-power plant for Nassau cruise ships) is already under construction; tanks are being installed.

Puerto Rico already receives U.S.-sourced LNG on the U.S.-flagged carrier American Energy and operates an import facility at San Juan. Other islands continue to study or advance modular terminals, ISO-container distribution, and floating regasification. Manzanillo is the largest single new LNG-to-power commitment in the region this year. The FSRU that will feed it has not yet been identified.
