Named press describes the trade that warning is aimed at. Shuttle tankers load inside the Gulf, cross the Strait, and transfer cargo ship-to-ship in the Gulf of Oman off Fujairah or Sohar. Vortexa, cited by Splash247, puts that STS crude at 3.1 million barrels per day since early July — about 30 percent of the region’s 5.6 million bpd of crude exports. Braemar, in the same piece, said 12 VLCCs named by Tehran had carried around 900,000 bpd and about 24 percent of the STS volume. TankerTrackers counted multiple simultaneous STS sets in the Gulf of Oman on 25–26 August.

Cyprus Mail reported the operating pattern on named hulls. Kiku (IMO 9329796) loaded at Mesaieed, dropped AIS near Dubai, and reappeared off Fujairah alongside Nave Electron (IMO 9890989). Nave Electron then sailed toward Ningbo. Nissos Kythnos (IMO 9853852) was reported alongside Front Otra after a similar dark crossing. VesselFinder lists IMO 9732541 under the current name Ghana Prosperity, with Front Otra as history. The desk does not treat those two names as one live hull this week.

Reuters, via The Hindu, reported that at least three Indian refiners and one global energy major planned to stop using listed ships. Press counts of 45 and 46 ships are not reconciled on the PGSA paper.

The earlier night-corridor note remains the official-product picture of southern-lane traffic.
