Zvezda finished the hulls that already had Korean tanks
House rule on this desk: Russian state and industry print on this series is unconfirmed unless a non-Russian named source repeats it.

LNG Prime, 7 September, titles “third” Russian-built ice-class LNG carrier near delivery. The open lead on the same page says “second.” Unmerged.
GTT, 2 January 2023, official: it was leaving Russia. From 8 January the Zvezda contract was suspended. Remaining work was limited to safety and integrity on the two most advanced of 15 ice-breaking LNG carriers. GTT did not name those two hulls.
Reuters, 18 June 2025, from Samsung Heavy filings: Zvezda cancelled the 2020–21 book for parts and blocks on ten icebreaking LNG carriers and seven shuttle tankers. SHI went to Singapore arbitration, then terminated and claimed damages. Five hulls had already been sent. The rest were not.
TradeWinds (Lucy Hine), 18 June 2026: Konstantin Posyet was fifth on the yard list and finished second because its membrane tanks were completed at Samsung Heavy in Korea before the hull was towed to Zvezda. The other three at the yard — Sergei Witte, Pyotr Stolypin, Viktor Chernomyrdin — arrived without tanks fitted.
gCaptain, same day: large parts of the ships were built by SHI. Posyet’s tanks were already installed when sanctions hit. Membrane work on the remaining three “may prove more challenging.”
That is the build story. Not a new GTT factory in Bolshoy Kamen.
OFAC annex jy2404 (12 June 2024) lists Alexey Kosygin IMO 9904546, Pyotr Stolypin 9904675, Sergei Witte 9904687, Zvezda 045 9904704. VesselFinder prints POSIET for 9904704. Painted Посьет / Posyet / Posiet stay as each source printed them.
What Russian paper prints. Unconfirmed here
Kremlin.ru, 2 September 2026: a visit to Zvezda; the President boarded a ship the note names Pyotr Stolypin; the note calls the series the first LNG carriers built in Russia for Arctic LNG 2. That is what the Kremlin published. It is not independent confirmation of design origin.

Interfax, 24 December 2025: handover of Aleksey Kosygin to Sovcomflot, 60 MW. Rosneft’s 2020 note and PortNews print 45 MW. Power figure unmerged. “First built in Russia” is the same claim as the Kremlin line.
RS, 30 May 2025: type approval (STO) for membrane sheets made at NPP Kompensator, St Petersburg, said to meet RS rules and GTT Mark III specification. That is an RS certificate. It is not a GTT press certificate, and it does not name a hull.
Segezha plywood / “GTT certificate for later ships” stays off this page. No GTT product in the pack says it.
