CENTCOM said it then struck three crude carriers it listed as IRGC-linked. M/T Downy off Kharg Island and M/T Stark 1 near Jask were “permanently disabled.” M/T Kylo, also printed as Noxen, was “completely destroyed” in the Gulf of Oman. The statement says that hull was unladen and that the crew was directed to abandon ship before the strikes. Adm. Brad Cooper is quoted: if you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose a higher economic cost — taking out three of yours.

CNN quotes Iran’s foreign ministry calling the U.S. actions illegal and a threat to commercial shipping. Tasnim, via CNN, said a tanker near Kharg was hit and that there were no casualties on that report. Those two lines are not a joint casualty list.
